We are honored to introduce our new consultant Michelle Aniftos, who recently joined BMMI to assist with expanding our educational initiatives.

Michelle  is a Clinical Psychologist and Neurotherapist in private practice. She is also a member of various professional organisations:

 

For almost 20 years, Michelle  worked for Education Queensland in various roles (Special Education Teacher, Education Advisor, Guidance Officer and Band 6 School Principal) and during that time, Michelle was seconded to the University of Southern Queensland where she was employed as a Lecturer in the Education faculty to teach at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in special education, and guidance and counselling.

For the past 12 years, Michelle has been providing mental health services for children and adults in her role as the Clinical Director of Mylne Street Mental Health - a well-regarded private mental health practice with offices in the Darling Downs, Western Downs and South Burnett regions of South-east Queensland. 

Michelle is an AHPRA-approved Supervisor for provisional and registered psychologists; and a QEEG Board and BCIA Mentor. 

Michelle has been a major advocate for minimum standards training in Neurofeedback and Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG) facilitating the first group of Australian mental health professionals to work successfully toward their recognition as QEEG Diplomates.

Michelle is an Adjunct Lecturer of the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba;

Convener of the Australian Neurofeedback & Psychology Interest Group; Fellow and

President-elect of the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia; and

Chair of the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance – Australia.

Michelle regularly develops and delivers seminars and professional development workshops for general practitioners and mental health professionals. Her presentation topics have included: Mental Health Skills Training; Cognitive Assessment; Child Mental Health; Private Practice Management; and Introductory Neurofeedback (BCIA-accredited course).
